Difference Between a Modular Office And Shipping Container Offices?

Jul 02 , 2021

Sea container offices or ground container offices are often associated with the modular construction industry and modular construction suppliers. Now they are not technically modular units, or at least you won't call them "modular shipping containers." In any case, they match the emotion, convenience and portability offered by many of our modular architectural designs, and we think we'll talk about why they are so popular in the United States and most parts of the world.

The difference between your standard modular office trailer and the "ground" container office relates to the structure itself and the foundation.

Most portable or modular offices are built on the foundation to keep your office above the ground floor. Typically, you'll see small steps or ramps leading to their doors and entrances. In contrast, container offices can be set up on the ground as long as the foundations are properly compacted and leveled.

In addition, modular offices are assembled entirely in warehouses or offsite factories and are built from the ground up into modules with floors, walls, and roofs.

A container office often lives its life, even if only for a short period of time as a standard container. It will not be retrofitted until then, with amenities such as windows, frame walls and insulation, desks and even bathrooms.
